For The Love Of Girlfriends
I run with a tight group of girls. Some I see daily, while others a couple of times a month, or maybe a few times during the year. Regardless of the time together or apart, they are faithful friends who constantly inspire me, support me, encourage me, ground me, and always give it to me straight!
I must share a recent message I received from one of my girlfriends. We were chatting about work, taking life by the reins, and not playing by any silly rules, or by any set formula.
Here is what she said to me, and how she sees me…I laughed out loud when I read the first sentence, and am very flattered by the rest.
“Be bold..,.who the hell cares! You are not a cardigan, pearl wearing polite lady on the social committee baking a pie for the new neighbor in town.
Oh no! ….
You can straddle a horse, make one-of-a kind hide’s into anything chic. You drink beer and look hot doing it, you can go barefaced and beautiful until you die, make an old flannel shirt look better than lingerie, curse like a sailor, whip up a pot of hearty chilli, and blog smart, funny and sarcastic inserts people wish they could post.
The best part is you are all of those things and can put on the pearls and cardigan, and smile too…if necessary. It’s a good place to be and the good ones will see it, and the rest will be blind or far too scared of your most powerful but feminine scepter.”
Yes, I love my girlfriends! Cheers to you dolls…and you all know who you are!
