Easter Fun
If there is one thing I really don’t like, it is plastic easter eggs. You use them once then they make their way into a landfill. This year I mixed it up and made my own little Easter eggs out of dyed fabric squares.
I took some old white fabric I had in my sewing room and cut them into squares. I added a few tablespoons of turmeric to boiling water and added the cloths to dye them yellow. Once they were finished, I rinsed them and dried them.
Next I added jelly beans and a couple with chocolate covered caramels the tied it with a little string and viola, a substitute Easter egg.
It happened to be freezing on Easter so we bundled the little guy up and set him on an adventure to find his loot. He was so happy and didn’t once realize anything was different than last year.
